FISHING REPORT
1/15/15 11:40 PM CST
Ice Depth: 10" Conditions: Sunny
Fished from 11am until about 3pm. Caught about 25 panfish, mostly gills, threw quite a few back. Out of the four of us, we kept about 10 fish. Had five tip-ups out, but never got anything on any of them. I'm sure you know by now, but the ice was between 8" and 10" on Tuesday when I was out there. My buddy drove his forester on with no problem. I also saw a full sized truck and blazer so yes, the ice is good enough to drive on. I would recommend keeping your distance from the ice close to the aerators. The fences are up but still, be cautious.

There were no cars/ trucks on the ice today. I only measured 8 inches of ice where I was fishing. Plenty of 4 wheelers out there.

The dnr puts up the rope. There are 2 aerators in 2 different spots on the lake I believe. The one by the landing is to your right when you walk/drive out.

Drove through the lot this afternoon around 3...lots of trucks. There looked to be a ton of open water. Is this common for Pine? Someone had put up a safety fence supposedly marking the unsafe ice.

Can anyone comment to this?

There should be some like the Brutis said they have been stocked in there since 1996, I know a pile were caught out of there when the lake opened but they have been stocking ever since. Maybe if a guy targeted them at dawn and dusk with tipups with mono? Ive tried it twice nada but who knows? As far as crappies think they were fished down pretty bad and now they are coming back. Think all the panfishing will be better with 10 fish limit. At least the crappies will crowd out the bullheads that used to be the main fish in the lake.

I'm sure there are some in pine, but I haven't seen a walleye in many years. I agree with the other statement on the crappies. Yes, they must be stunted.

Well the pike hit great last night which was 12/29/14 my brother caught a nice pike probably 8 pounds, so that's a nice pike. There are bigger ones out there i have had them on. This morning was really slow i had three flags and i caught about pike a 20 inch hammer handle. ARE THERE ANY WALLEYES LEFT IN PINE LIKE THERE USED TO BE?

I have fished this lake many times in the summer with people who normally don't fish and they love it. Unfortunately out of the hundreds and I mean hundreds of crappies we have caught I have kept maybe 5. Those five were 10 inches and I do not keep anything under 9 so that tells you what sizes crappies are in that lake. I think it's a stunted lake for crappies, fun to fish with kids or inexperienced fisher persons.
